CANGER-JANZ Fellowship
The MICHAEL FOUNDATION is launching a scholarship program that young neurologists (up to the age of 40) from Germany and Italy can use for 6 months to gain further qualifications at a renowned epileptology department in the other country.
These fellowships are named after two 20th-century epileptologist friends from Italy (Raffaele Canger, 1938-2019) and Germany (Dieter Janz, 1920-2016); both intensively promoted the development of young people in their countries and international exchange.
For 2025, the scholarship will be advertised for an Italian participant to stay at a German epilepsy facility. The organization and application process will be carried out by our Italian partners.
The start and end of the six-month stay will be agreed between the hostess and the scholarship holder.
Knowledge of Italian language is not a requirement, but mastery of English is required.
The amount of a scholarship is € 2,000 per month,
if required, a one-off travel allowance of up to € 300 can be granted.
The duration of the scholarship is a maximum of 6 months.
